This fall at KGTC we are happy to offer NEW classes to compliment our regular programs!
Storybook Yoga & Gym is a creative movement exploration program with the opportunity to explore gymnastic apparatus circuits. The storybook yoga content gives exposure to literature, teaching children self-regulation in a fun and interactive environment. Runs Thursdays for ages 3.8 – 5 years.
Acro for Dancers is specifically designed for dancers looking to learn and improve floor skill for their dance routines. Set your goals and work to achieve them over this 10 week program. All levels and abilities welcome. Runs Tuesdays for ages 10+ years and Saturdays for ages 7.8 – 11 years.
Freestyle is designed for skiers and boarders who are looking for time in the gym to learn and practice rotation skills and spacial awareness. Beginning inversion skills will be taught with a trampoline style focus initially but will transition into off axis as ability allows. Runs Wednesdays for ages 8+ years.
High School Level 1-2 is a program that allows for 1 to 3 days of training per week. Athletes with little or some previous experience are welcome to join this training. Must be self-motivated to improve the fitness components required to advance personal skill development on all apparatus. Build your performance confidence as you gain experience. Runs Tuesdays and/or Thursdays for girls aged 11.8 + years.
Boys Crew is an opportunity to combine all gym sports into one show for KGTC events or possibly BC Gymnaestrada in the spring of 2017. Must be self-motivated to improve the fitness components required to advance personal skill development on all apparatus. There is a focus on floor – tumbling, acrobatics and gymnastics for parkour. Runs Saturdays for boys age 8.8 – 13 years.
Gymnastics for Parkour teaches one to travel from place to place with safety. Learn to move with efficiency and safety improving agility as you travel over, around, up and across obstacles. Develop spacial awareness, self-confidence and critical thinking skills. Runs Fridays for ages 12 and up.
Small & Tall (pre-school) Drop-in is a fun and informal introduction to gymnastics and spring equipment. Each Small & Tall warm up includes a safety review and equipment instructions. The accompanying adult is a guide for the child’s exploration and must stay within arm’s reach at all times. Please ensure that both adults and children come dressed to be active: no jeans, belts, buckles, jewelry or shoes. Runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am – 12 pm for ages 14 months to 3.5 years.
Just Me (pre-school) Drop-in is a perfect transition to independent participation for you 3 – 5 year old. A fun and informal introduction to gymnastics and trampoline on a drop-in basis. Children explore activities and equipment with a KGTC coach. Adults are either in Small & Tall with a younger sibling or may watch from the viewing area. Runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 11am – 12 pm for ages 3 to 5 years.
Adult Drop-in begins with a warm up and then you are free to move around the gym exploring apparatus at your own pace. Supervising staff will be present to ensure gym guidelines are followed and are available to assist as asked during this self-directed program time. Runs Thursdays from 8:30 – 10 pm for ages 18 and up.
Gym Fit for Adults is the perfect program for those who wish to push their fitness for a Spartan or Tough Mudder type event. An awesome way to work out whether you want to get more involved in gymnastics or not. A huge variety of exercises are included focusing on everything from your cardio and core to upper and lower body. You will come away from every session feeling fitter, healthier and one step closer to that gymnast’s physique. Runs Tuesdays from 8:45 – 9:45 pm for ages 18 and up.
