Gymnastics is one of the 3 foundation sports is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as fundamental for participation in all other sports.  The Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L), Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model  recognizes that participation in these 3 sports: gymnastics, swimming and athletics are crucial to the development of many fundamental movement patterns and fundamental sport skills.

The Canadian LTAD for Pre-school and Recreational Gymnastics include the following stages for athlete development:

Stage 1: Active Start – Pre-school

Stage 2: Fun, Fitness and FUNdamental Movement Patterns

Stage 3: Building the Skills of Gymnastics

Stage 4: Learning to Train

Programs are designed to be FUN with the opportunity for athletes to try the multitude of activities possible in the KGTC environment.
